Long before its cars, cameras and electronic devices conquered world markets, Germany was exporting ideas. Earth-shakers like Martin Luther, Karl Marx and Albert Einstein came from the same intellectual melting pot as Goethe, Heine and Thomas Man; Bach, Beethoven and Wagner need no translators. Germany can trace its prehistory back about half a million years, right down to the jawbone of Heidelberg Man, which today is a university town bearing the same name. Boosted by the fall of the wall, Berlin is twice as populous, vibrant and forward-looking than ever in its artistic, intellectual and economic activity, a fitting capital for the new Germany. One of the first things visitors should do on arrival in Berlin is to acquaint themselves with the city's phenomenal fast-train system - the S-Bahn("S" is for schnell - fast) and U-Bahn (underground train or subway) . The S-Bahn and U-Bahn systems are augmented by trams and buses. By air, Tegel, Tempelhof and Schonefeld airports are connected with the city center by buses and trains.
Berlin is a fascinating, pulsating metropolis full of attractions , nonstop activities and the attractions presented here are but a few:
